No more throwing bad science and bad advice around. Stop! The “food pyramid” guidelines are still alive (and well?) in New Zealand (see here). They are outdated, old school and quite simply wrong. Recently they were up for review… Unfortunately, they came back more or less the same – saturated fat, and fat are bad for us ….blah blah blah. ![]() By Cliff Harvey ND Part 1: Why We Get Fat: a Brief Intro Usually when we think of losing fat we immediately jump to the conclusion that we need to eat less and exercise more. But is this valid and more importantly is it maintainable? It is absolutely true that if we eat a LOT less then we expend through exercise we will lose weight, however when we exercise more and eat less we are creating a situation of ‘practical starvation’ that does not change the reason why we became overweight in the first place. Chlorella is a single celled blue-green algae renowned as a nutrient superfood and used in many multi-nutrient products and sold individually as a health supplement. In spite of its rich nutritional profile there has been some concern that the detoxifying effects (such as reductions in dioxin and mercury levels) may raise exposure to these damaging compounds for the unborn or breastfeeding baby. |
